Case Report Update: Microcephaly (Tiny Head) Child
Jul 08, 2024Here is an update to our 2-yr old microcephaly client. You can read the initial Case Report here.
The Brain Drain treatments are lasting a lot longer now. He received his third treatment last week with about 10 days in between the first and second treatment and 18 days between the second and third. His mother will call when she starts to see signs of him getting overwhelmed and overstimulated again. So it's taking longer each time for the pressure to build up in his head. His mother said that he has never returned to the same condition after the first treatment, so he has consistently improved over the past month.
Each time when he arrives for a treatment, he heads straight for the toys and ends up getting overwhelmed to the point of throwing over toy across the room. His parents have to hold him still for the first few minutes until Bobbi Jo can perform a quick neck flush. By this time he has cleared everything off the table. After one pass to clear the fluid pressure from his neck, you can see him calm down immediately.
During this third treatment, Bobbi Jo was positioned at the head of the table to use the tuning fork on his head as part of the Brain Drain treatment. He crawled up to the head of the bed and laid his head on Bobbi Jo's chest while she relieved the fluid pressure from his head. You can see the affects of this treatment quieting the outside world from the sensory overload he lives through each day. His mother said that when is home with nobody around, he will play with his toys in one spot for hours with no problem. Once there is something new to the equation like new people, a new location, or new objects around him, this overstimulates him into a sense of panic where he yells out and throws whatever he can grab.
When he sleeps, his family has to move around the house quietly because any little noise will wake him up. We have seen a direct connection between fluid pressure in the head and overstimulation of senses. This is the same pattern with other disorders, conditions, and life challenges like ADHD, high anxiety, panic attacks, and most of the autism spectrum. I am also on that spectrum with Asperger's, and I still need a Brain Drain to calm my overstimulation from time to time. The change is always immediate, and we have seen big results across the board with this protocol. Hopefully this little boy can continue to improve and have a good childhood. He is a wonder boy and very loving. He doesn't have to live like that, and hopefully this is a long-term solution. If you would like to learn more about our Brain Drain Protocol, we offer this training as a stand-alone course separate from our VFRT Certification Program since the techniques are different and unique. You can learn more about the technique here.
